My Vellvette Box (April) :)

Hey ya ladies! I received my April Vellvette Beauty Box in the mail today. I am so happy that it arrived so soon. Here is a sneak peek for you ;)

This month's box is way better than the March box, but I still wished for a nail paint or a perfume sample. :P

I am glad to see Velvette teaming up with Motives, such a widely known international brand. You can check out the reviews of some Motives products that I did a while back.

Listing the products that I got in the box,

• Motives Mardi Gras Palette
• The Nature's Co. Red and Green tea Sunscreen Lotion
• Mary Kay extra emollient night cream
• NYX lipgloss in shade strawberry (Extra sample for the March offer)

Overall thought: I am happy to see the Motives palette in the box, but to be honest, I have too many palettes to finish up and this seems good to gift away to my friends. Nice to see a product from The Nature's Co. as I wanted to try out the brand, but why sunscreen (oh and it smells weird and muddy.....please spare my face and send something to try on body instead VT!), and the Mary Kay night cream seems too sticky to apply on face (maybe I would use it on hands, as my hands tend to get dry and flaky due to season change). As for the extra sample of NYX lipgloss, it seems that the Vellvette team is sending the surplus products of last few months as extra sample (like the Purely Pro blush in march box ...WHY?! =(( ...not fair VT!)

Oh please, please read the questionnaire I answered VT, before sending out the May Box. Hope to see some of my favourite products in the next box.

NYX 78 colors Eyeshadow palette Review and some EOTDs

Hola ladies! I am back with a makeup product review, after eons it seems. Yes I know I am so late reviewing this palette. I was trying to  test it and put it to proper use and try out some looks. And now I am here with my review. I got this from b2nshop.com. (Read my experience here).

QUANTITY: 88.80 g. (Contains 6 large pots of daily eye shadow shades,68 shades of small eye shadows, 4 face powders, 8 applicator sponges, 1 mirror.)

MY EXPERIENCE:

NYX has become a favourite brand among many beauty blogger since we get so many options at such affordable prices (though not so affordable in India :P). I was so excited when I got this palette, as it had almost all the imaginable colors and all of them are pretty much wearable. Now the shades are a mix of pearly, matte and shimmery finish. Pigmentation is good for darker colors while the lighter shades needs more than 2 swipes for the color to show up.

Also, the lighter shades tends to fade away slightly under humid conditions after few hours.Otherwise they do last long on the lids, though my lids remain pretty much dry unless it is too humid. I wish there were some brighter matte shades of yellow, blue and green. All I could see in there are pinks, purples, oranges, browns and black. :P Comparing the prices with other eyeshadow palattes, this is definitely pricier, but I heard the quality is much better than those palettes from other beauty bloggers. It gets removed easily with water, though that might be a con in the monsoons!

WHAT I LIKED: 

• 78 lovely colors in one palette.
• Mix of shimmery, pearly and matte shades.
• Almost all the shades are wearable.
• Pigmentation and quality are decent being a palette.
• It comes with a huge mirror, and the packaging is compact and would be travel friendly.
• No powdery or gritty feel with any of the shades.
• The package arrived safely without any broken shadows. I ordered it from b2nshop.com.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:

• I wish there were more variants of yellows, blues and greens. Then I would have called it a complete palette.
• Shades from the same color family (esp. in the pink and orange range) are not distinguishable when blended on eyes.
• It isn't water resistant. 
• The lighter shades tends to fade away in humid conditions.

VERDICT: All in all I loved this palette. Though I wish there were a bit more variety in colors instead of so many orange shades :P.

NYX eyeshadow palatte: 78 colors Swatch Post

Hey gals! Here is the swatch post of the NYX eyeshadow palatte, as promised. :) Beware, the post is picture heavy! ;)

It took quite a bit of time & effort to swatch all the colors. All the swatches are 1-2 swipe of colors on my dry skin, without any base/primer and without flash.

There are a few repetitive shades, like the shimmery orange one and a few too many highlighter shades. It has a mix of shimmery, pearly and matte shadows. I wished there were few more darker greens and blues! Will do a detailed review later on. Hope this post helps! :)

Deborah Milano Ombretto Mono Hi-tech Eyeshadow -Shade Number 50 Review & EOTD

Hola ladies! Hope you guys are doing well. I am feeling a lot better now, and quite enjoying the summer rains here in the evenings, though the thunderous lightning gets creepy at times if you are out and about on your own :P. I don't know why I like to update you guys on the weather like some news reporter #CREEPY! 

Anyway, lets keep all the creepiness aside, and get on with today's review of the Deborah Milano Ombretto Mono Hi-tech Eyeshadow in Shade Number 50 which doesn't have a shade name but only a number to be recognised by, poor thing!

PRICE: Rs.295

QUANTITY: Not mentioned but I guess around 1.5 - 2 g

WHAT IT CLAIMS:
Multi-reflecting eye shadow. Glides on evenly and adheres perfectly. Looks gorgeous all day long. Use wet&dry for a versatile application. With special curved applicator. Hypoallergenic. 

SWATCH:

MY EXPERIENCE: This was my first time experience with baked eyeshadow. I loved the look of the product on first sight, as it almost looked like a silver moon (with supposed craters ;) ) on a dark night in that packaging. The eyeshadow can be used both dry and wet. However, when used dry it doesn't come out much pigmented and blending is a little difficult when I tried to use it as a highlighter on the browbone. When used wet, one needs to pat on the eyeshadow and it comes out as a nice pearly, iridescent silver shade on the eyes. It didn't crease on me even after quite a few hours. The product comes with sponge tip applicator which isn't of much help.

EOTD:

Have used the Deborah Milano Ombretto Mono Hi-tech Eyeshadow, slightly wet, on the inner half of the eyelid, blended with an eggplant shade mineral eyeshadow from Nique cosmetics. Have used Deborah Milano Kajal as a base on the outer V area to darken the purple shade and also used it for tightlining.

Products used:

WHAT I LIKED:

• The silver shade gives a pearly, iridescent hue and isn't OTT sparkly.
• Comes in a baked form and can be used both dry and wet.
• The texture is soft and smooth, but blending takes a little extra effort when used dry.
• Really liked the packaging and the look of the product.
• Quantity is great for the price paid and comparable to other brands.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:

• Comes out less pigmented when used dry.
• There is a bit of fallout, though it is negligible.
• It doesn't have shade names but only numbers.

VERDICT: There are some pretty shades available in this range. If you like to collect mono shadows, this can be a budget buy, otherwise you can go for the trios with just two hundred bucks more for more color options.

RATINGS: 3.75 out of 5

Inglot M3 Eyeshadow Pearl Trio - Shade 556 Review& EOTD

Hello beauties! :D Warming up my lazy bones (though the weather is really HOT here) to do a real blog post and here I am with my review on Inglot M3 Eyeshadow Pearl Trio in Shade 556. A few weeks back Inglot India was holding a free sample giveaway on their FB page and lucky me snagged a sample. I was given an option to choose from various shades of the Inglot M3 Eyeshadow Pearl Trio range consisting of variations of greens and blues and browns but the shade 556 with hues of golden and brown had me at first glance, as it is a versatile trio which would suit Indian skin tones the best!

PRICE: Rs. 725 (I guess)

QUANTITY: 2 g

INGREDIENTS: Not mentioned.

SWATCH:

MY EXPERIENCE: Inglot M3 Eyeshadow Pearl Trio (556) consists of three beautiful, pressed powder shades of copper/burnt orange, golden, and dark brown. It comes in square box container. The shades gives a pearly shine and you can see each of the colors vary under different intensity of light. 

Staying power is really good even without a primer and the shades are very easy to blend. I noticed a little fallout when I opened and used it first time, however, from next time there wasn't any noticeable fallout. The copper and the golden shade looks contrasting in the pan but on skin they really are a close match and on blending it gets totally mixed up. I find the quantity a little too less for the price but the quality compensates for it.

EOTD: 

Used all the three colors on lid trying to create an ombre effect and some highlighter on browbone. Didn't use any liner but tightlined the outer halves on both upper and lower lashlines and used mascara.

The colors look a bit mixed up and washed out here because of the light.

Products used:

WHAT I LIKED:

• The shades blend easily.
• The trio offers three colors which you can combine as you like.
• Gives a pearly copper/golden hue and the color varies under different lights.
• This particular trio would suit the Indian tones the best.
• Available in many other combos.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:

• Quantity is a bit less for the price.
• Availability is an issue, as there are too less Inglot stores and this trio is not available online.

VERDICT:

In my limited stash of eyeshadows, this is definitely a treaured product. For the quality, you can surely overlook the price if you are into eye-makeup amd love collecting eyeshadows/palettes.
