HipHop Skin Care Facial Wax Strips Review

In the whole time I have been blogging for, I have always put forward my views on both the positive and the negative sides of a product. I try to make every product work for me in some way or other, and never thought of product-bashing (is that a word?). But, yes today I think, for the first time on B.B.B there is going to be one such event, my review on HipHop Skin Care Facial Wax Strips. Now I am not a rude person (umm... I think so), so this post won't be having any *beep* words if you were wondering :P.

PRICE: Rs.40

QUANTITY: 6 double sided wax strips

INGREDIENTS & DIRECTIONS TO USE:

MY EXPERIENCE: This was an impulse buy, just for emergency purposes. But, this itself called for an emergency when I used it for the first time. For reference, see the gross picture below when I tried it on my upper lip area for the first time,

Sorry for the crappy quality picture, but I hope can you see the nick marks on my skin in the circled area. Yes, that was my first experience and I was horrified, and oh it didn't remove the facial hair at all as expected, not even on my fingers, on which I tried the other half of a single strip. Just for the sake of the review I thought of giving it a second chance. No, I didn't dare to try it on my face again but on my toes. I tried to remove the little fine hair there on my big toe (I promise I am not a hairy gorilla if the thought crossed your mind ;)) ), but, ha! there was still half of them visible on my toe though the strip tried hard to remove some.

WHAT I LIKED:
  • Only the price..maybe!

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
  • I tried to warm up the strip for more than 30secs between the palms, but I didn't see much softening of the wax to begin with.
  • It failed to remove the fine hairs from my face, fingers and toes. DUH!
  • If you try the same strip on the same spot many times, the wax gets stuck on the skin.
  • It irritated my upper lip area (maybe due to the wax that got stuck which I tried hard to remove and it resulted in those ugly marks).
  • The depil towelettes are hardly soothing to my irritated skin after the painful waxing process.
VERDICT:
I am definitely staying away from it. Try this at your own risk!

A collective mini haul :)

Hey ya beauties! As you might have seen on my FB page updates that I am on a shopping spree for last few weeks, from December end till January end to be precise, as all the sites were coming up with some lovely discounts or offer, and also found new websites to try out. More on that later, below is the collective pic of almost everything I got :D

Yup! THE THREE BLUSHES :D
Two weeks ago I didn't own any blush so as to speak of, and then I went crazy and got three. I know all three of them have been reviewed innumerable times. Adding mine won't harm anyone right :P

I ordered my first blush, Deborah Milano in shade Rosa Pesca, which was on my wishlist for a long time and it was available on HealthKart.com. So I ordered one along with Garnier Body Cocoon Lotion.

This time they packaged everything nicely and my order was delivered within 4 days time which is quite an improvement over the last time. Still, it was the last to arrive even though I ordered this first :P
You can read my complete experience here.

Moving on to the next,

I *quenched my thirst* for NYX products atlast. Ordered their Long eye pencil in Silver along with the Faces Long Wear in Forest Green from StyleCraze.com during their year end sale.I wanted the tea rose lippie too but it wasn't there.

And again ordered from their NYX sale, for the NYX cream blush in shade Natural along with few other stuff, but again missed on the lippie as it went Out Of Stock :(
My first order was delivered in 2 days and the second order in just 1 day! Beat that! :D But, I am missing their free gifts they were giving during their launch.
You can read my experience on Stylecraze.com here and know why I go gaga over it.

On to the next, the new website I was talking about is the MakeUpShades.com.

Ordered a ColorBar blush in Plum Brown and Velvet Matte Lipstick in Bare :D. Reviews and my shopping experience on the site coming up next :). In case you still want to check it out first, they are giving a special 10% discount on a purchase of Rs.500 or above, use code: 2M68R62N valid till 26th Jan, 2012, so hurry! :)

And lastly, the products I have been hunting for long. I finally found a Patanjali outlet near to my place and got their most proclaimed Aloe Vera Gel :D, along with some other bathing soaps.

I hope you all liked my little haul. :-*

P.S. Do you like this font size or do you want me to go back to the previous one? Let me know along with your comments. :)

Hiphop Skin Care Instant Nail Polish Remover Wipes Review

Hola ladies! I know I am jabbering away too much on my blog these days.  So today’s post would be without any nonsensical babble and to the point and I would let the pictures to do the talking (warning: some are too yucky. :P ) Oh and I am reviewing the Hiphop Skin Care Instant Nail Polish Remover Wipes today, if you didn’t read the title. =))

PRICE:  Rs.75 (Bought this at UrbanTouch at Rs.68 along with the giveaway haul ;;) )

QUANTITY: 30 wipes.

WHAT IT CLAIMS:
“Quick, clean & effortless way to remove Nail Polish. Acetone Free Formula - does not over dry or damage nails. Conditions & Moisturise the cuticles. One single wipe is enough for 10 nails.”

INGREDIENTS:

MY EXPERIENCE: As it claims one single wipe removes the polish from 10 nails but they didn’t say that the wet wipe stains it back on nails or your fingers while doing that :>. So you would require either two wipes or a cotton wool and a bit acetone remover to get complete clean hands and nails. See the pictures below for more clarification,

Can you see the stains on the nails and the little pinky?

WHAT I LIKED:
  • Comes in an air tight packaging so the wipes won’t get dry unless you keep the protective lid open for too long.
  • One wipe is able to remove even the most stubborn of nailpolishes. However, you need a bit of acetone remover or another wipe to clean the remaining stains.
  • Doesn’t dry out nails and cuticles as claimed.
  • Comes with a plastic tong that helps to take out the wipes without messing your hands or the other wipes. A pat on your back HipHop, from a hygiene freak for the genius idea.
  • Economical since you get atleast 15 usages (if you use two wipes at one time) and you don’t change your polish every other day.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
  • I simply hate the smell. It’s citrusy and very strong which I completely abhor.
  • Haven’t seen it around in any local stores. However it is available online, so what the heck!
VERDICT: It does its work pretty nicely and if you think your polish remover isn’t obeying you, then you can give it a try too.
