Women are beautiful, and they always will be! But there is a certain fixed mindset in India regarding skin tone. Girls with dusky/ dark skin tone are frequently looked down upon.. 

This blog has been created, specially keeping in mind, the day-to-day problems a dusky Indian girl faces in her life in relation to make-up. I have generally observed (and also suffered) the fact that most Indian cosmetic companies make cosmetics keeping in mind the fairer skin tones. It is so so difficult to find a foundation at times! I would love to share my experiences in this regard, and I hope this information will be of much use to many girls out there.  

About me: I am a typical Delhiite girl, a Doctor by profession, and now into research. my passion for beauty and make-up started long back, when i was in school. As a young girl, I used to love using mom's cosmetics. With the passage of time, the interest only increased, and here I am, a beauty and make-up Blogger, and I'm totally loving this new-found love in my life to the core! I and my hubby are complete dog lovers and we have a Labrador retriver who has turned 4 months old now. We call him Panzer, he is a cute white colored puppy.   

Being a punjabi, I love punjabi food , music and dance :)    
Love for cooking is synonymous with my love for eating.   

Recently I have developed a love for makeup and jewellery. My blog will keep reflecting my love..

My name is Dee and Poutpretty is my personal beauty and style blog. I have always been a huge makeup and beauty maniac but never really got around to writing about what I love till I finally decided to take the plunge in June 2012. In my blog, you will find product reviews (I’m a self confessed ‘lipstickaholic’ so there will be a lot of stuff about lippies), information about new launches, sale alerts, fashion tidbits, shopping recommendations etc etc ..basically anything and everything that I find pretty! 

Some facts about me - 

1. I’m a bengali from Kolkata and yes I love fish, mishti doi and rossogolla! 

2. My favorite makeup brand is MAC and I’m a NC 45 so most products that I review and recommend will lean towards that skintone 

3. I love animals and have a dog at home. He is a daschund and loves fish, mishti doi and rossogolla as well! 

4. I love reds and hot pinks when it comes to lipsticks 

5. When I’m not blogging or shopping, I’m working in the IT department of an international bank. "

I have been thinking about to start this section for a while and now I am here with an idea! As a beauty blogger, I understand it takes a lot of hardwork and time to get focus and to make others hear you too, when you start out as a newbie in this beauty blogosphere! I myself get many requests to follow back new blogs every other day (spamming comments are a bit annoying though ;) :P ) ! But when I visit them back, many a times I do find they are definitely worth a read!

So I thought why not create a small space for all the newbie bloggers here on BEAUTY, BRAINS AND BRAWNS! :D 

This would be a Sunday feature on my blog and let's call it, " Sunday Peek: yourblogname ". Each Sunday, one newbie blogger would get focus through a dedicated blog post on B.B.B and a permanent link back on this post!
