Motives® by Loren Ridinger's Lustrafy Mascara - Shade Black Out Review

Hey ya ladies, welcome back! :-h The Nor'westers have arrived here and finally we got some relief from the scorching heat, but it brought along the flu and sneeze bugs as companions and here I am down with slight fever for last two days! Ugghh!! :( But, feeling a little better now, hence thought of doing a post for you all.

Anyway, lets get started with today's product review and today the spotlight is on Motives® by Loren Ridinger's Lustrafy Mascara in shade Black Out, which I received long back but then forgot to use it and it was lying in my stash sealed for last few months until I opened it recently while organizing my stash. So here is my view on it after a few usages.

MY EXPERIENCE: Well, as I told you that I have just started using the product. So when I opened the seal first time, I was disappointed to see the mascara so dried up. But, then I realised the consistency is actually very thick and gel like. On top of that, it has got a strong alcoholic smell and I thought the product must have expired, but I dared to use it anyway and thankfully, I didn't get any bad reaction. Motives® by Loren Ridinger's Lustrafy Mascara has a fat wand with volumizing bristles, that fails to add much volume but excels in adding length to my lashes. On two coats, my lashes look a bit long and thick but it doesn't provide much curl on its own as per the claims. Staying power is good and it doesn't make my lashes droopy or heavy. It dries up pretty fast on application so you should not waste time between two coats. But, I am not fond of it clumping my lashes together. It is not waterproof and I prefer it that way. But don't worry it isn't going to budge easily unless you actually try to remove it with water.

WHAT I LIKED:

• The mascara is easy to use and dries up fast on application so you don't need to wait for long to proceed with other parts of your makeup.
• It definitely adds length and a bit of volume to my lashes.
• Doesn't budge unless one tries to remove it.
• Available in two shades. Check here.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:

• Has got an alcoholic smell which I detest.
• Clumps the lashes together, hence won't suit people with sparse lashes.
• Availabilty in India is an issue.
• Quite pricey.

VERDICT: Since mascaras don't have a long shelf life, I don't see the point of investing much on them no matter how wide known/hyped the brand is. You can try this if you are not on a budget.

Maybelline BB Cream - Shade Radiance Review

Hola beauties! I know, I know you have already seen tonnes of reviews on the product I am about to review today, but one more wouldn't hurt right. I was actually very excited about the launch of this Maybelline BB Cream (a first of its kind), but then all my hopes got squashed when I came to know that this BB cream isn't actually Blemish Balm (what a BB cream stands for) but Bright Benefit cream, which is just a tinted moisturiser with a fancy name. Still I wanted to try it out, but then read some mixed responses from my fellow bloggers which somewhat curbed my excitement to try it out.

Then my wonderful blogger buddy Rids from Sugar spice and all dats nice held a Maybelline BB Cream giveaway and I won one in that. So yay to that , and I finally got a chance to test the product for myself (Thank you Rids :-* ).

WHAT IT CLAIMS:

MY EXPERIENCE: As I am a die hard fan of my Pond's TM, this product had a tough competition to start with. I chose the shade Radiance, to be on the safe side, as it is the middle shade and there was lot of confusion going on about the shades. Maybelline BB Cream is a tinted moisturiser with pleasant fruity smell. At first when I used it I wasn't impressed at all, as it didn't blend easily on my dry skin during the cold weather and required a base, and the cream being a bit heavier than the Pond's TM it felt too much going on my skin. But, I found it got quite better in case of blending during the warmer months. But you need to blend it out properly. I had this embarassing moment once when I saw it creased on my upper eyelids after a few hours, as I might not have put effort to blend properly in a hurry. However, it melts away easily in the humidity. The only thing I liked in comparison ot to the Pond's TM is that, Maybelline BB Cream adds a healthy brightness to my face unlike the dewiness of the latter, which is quite a welcome change than to appear dewy in this humid weather. It doesn't give much coverage on spots, but evens out skintone nicely.

WHAT I LIKED:

• Gives a nice healthy glow without any dewy effect.
• Brightens and even out skintone.
• It is quite moisturising on its own in this humid weather and that's all I can stand on my skin now.
• Has a pleasant fruity smell.
• Comes in an attractive tube packaging that dispenses controlled amount of the cream.
• Pocket friendly in terms of cost. 
• Only a pea sized amount is required in each application. In the swatches above, that's the amount I require only for my face.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:

• Melts in humid weather and turns skin oily after few hours.
• If you have very dry skin then you might need a base cream to blend properly.  
• Quantity given is too little for the price.

VERDICT: Somehow I love my Pond's TM a tad bit more than the Maybelline BB Cream, but then I am hearing Pond's TM has stopped their supply in the market, so it's quite perfect timing for Maybelline BB Cream to appear. If the case is true, then I might well stick with the Maybelline BB Cream as this is my second best option until something better comes along!

Inglot M3 Eyeshadow Pearl Trio - Shade 556 Review& EOTD

Hello beauties! :D Warming up my lazy bones (though the weather is really HOT here) to do a real blog post and here I am with my review on Inglot M3 Eyeshadow Pearl Trio in Shade 556. A few weeks back Inglot India was holding a free sample giveaway on their FB page and lucky me snagged a sample. I was given an option to choose from various shades of the Inglot M3 Eyeshadow Pearl Trio range consisting of variations of greens and blues and browns but the shade 556 with hues of golden and brown had me at first glance, as it is a versatile trio which would suit Indian skin tones the best!

MY EXPERIENCE: Inglot M3 Eyeshadow Pearl Trio (556) consists of three beautiful, pressed powder shades of copper/burnt orange, golden, and dark brown. It comes in square box container. The shades gives a pearly shine and you can see each of the colors vary under different intensity of light. 

Staying power is really good even without a primer and the shades are very easy to blend. I noticed a little fallout when I opened and used it first time, however, from next time there wasn't any noticeable fallout. The copper and the golden shade looks contrasting in the pan but on skin they really are a close match and on blending it gets totally mixed up. I find the quantity a little too less for the price but the quality compensates for it.

EOTD: 

Used all the three colors on lid trying to create an ombre effect and some highlighter on browbone. Didn't use any liner but tightlined the outer halves on both upper and lower lashlines and used mascara.

The colors look a bit mixed up and washed out here because of the light.

Products used:

WHAT I LIKED:

• The shades blend easily.
• The trio offers three colors which you can combine as you like.
• Gives a pearly copper/golden hue and the color varies under different lights.
• This particular trio would suit the Indian tones the best.
• Available in many other combos.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:

• Quantity is a bit less for the price.
• Availability is an issue, as there are too less Inglot stores and this trio is not available online.

VERDICT:

In my limited stash of eyeshadows, this is definitely a treaured product. For the quality, you can surely overlook the price if you are into eye-makeup amd love collecting eyeshadows/palettes.
